The Touring Car Masters is set to muscle up at the 2012 Meguiar’s MotorEx this weekend at Sydney Olympic Park.

Six TCM vehicles will be on display including the series’ first Shelby Mustang, that of Steve Mason. The other five TCM cars are: Mason’s 2007 series-winning Chevrolet Camaro, the green XY GT-HO and blue Boss Mustang from Tilley Racing, Matt O’Brien’s striking Holden HQ Monaro and Steve Makarios’ Falcon XY GT-HO.

Meantime, reigning Touring Car Masters champ and Rare Spares ambassador John Bowe, will ‘co-star’ on the Rare Spares stand. AMC hears that Rare Spares, a long term major partner of the series, is preparing to make a major industry announcement during the event weekend.

MotorEx is the largest and most prestigious motoring enthusiast event of its kind in Australia, says Bowe.

“I’ve been involved with MotorEx for a number of years now and it continues to grow and impress me each and every year with the vehicles, the brands, the glamour and the outstanding organisation of the event itself – the smiles on the faces of punters young and old is testimony to that.

“With Rare Spares and the Touring Car Masters partnering off track, it shows the ongoing development and commitment between the organisations, both of which I’m proud to be part of.

“It’s going to be another very big, very impressive year at MotorEx which has no doubt become one of the shows a racer, enthusiast or yet-to-be-converted motor head can’t afford to miss.”

Event manager Andrew Spira of Motor Active is also looking forward to the classic Australian and American muscle gracing the floors this year.

“Meguiar’s MotorEx has seen outstanding developments with each and every year, and adding the classic showcase of the Touring Car Masters to the collection this time around is a natural fit with our audience who share the passion.”

Meguiar’s MotorEx is Australia’s greatest annual celebration of custom, performance and collectable cars. It will be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park Dome on July 21-22.

The event has launched its most extensive charity program with a new two-year fundraising campaign for Camp Quality – the children’s family cancer charity. Under the new agreement, $2 from every ticket sold to attend MotorEx 12 ‘The Greatest Rides on Show” will be donated to Camp Quality. Show-goers that buy an official limited edition MotorEx 12 T-shirt or any of the other 3 special release T-shirts will also contribute to the fundraising effort with $10 from the sale of every shirt being donated to Camp Quality.
