Team principal Jamie Whincup has hailed the creation of the new Gen3 Chevrolet Camaros as Triple Eight Race Engineering’s “biggest achievement” in the sport.
The most successful team in the sport’s recent history unveiled its racing livery over the weekend, with the blue and silver testing livery replaced by a combination of Red Bull blue and Ampol red across the cars that Shane van Gisbergen and Broc Feeney will drive in this year’s championship.

Triple Eight was Holden’s long-time homologation team and was charged with leading the development of the new Camaro over the last three years. Whincup, a seven-time champion driving for the team, said the creation of the new Chevrolets is the team’s most impressive achievement to date.
"It’s a massively exciting era for the sport,” Whincup said.
"We’ve been working on this Gen3 project for three years now. As soon as COVID hit the world, Triple Eight realised this was the time to develop a new product and we need it as quick as possible.
"We started the journey then, and here we are now. I couldn’t be prouder of the people at Triple Eight."

He added: “The hours, dedication, blood, sweat and tears… it’s without doubt Triple Eights biggest achievement – second to none. It’s something we’re so proud of and will be a part of our legacy.”
Triple Eight will now head to Sydney Motorsport Park for Wednesday’s [February 22] open test session. Fans will be able to attend the testing for free with timing to be switched on allowing the first indication of which team has sorted its new cars out the best so far.
The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship begins March 10-12 at Newcastle.
