Australian touring car fans had to bid farewell to Holden last weekend in Adelaide. For the final time the Lion brand was represented at the pinnacle of Australian motor racing, with Chevrolet set to sweep in and replace the local brand on the racetrack - as it has done in the showroom.
We’ve already looked back at the Top 10 Holden touring cars of all-time, ranking them based on their on-track performance as well as off-track significance. But which was Holden’s most successful? This week we’re taking a look at the numbers and breaking down which Holden models took the most race wins in Australian Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercar history.
=10. Torana L34, Torana A9X, VP Commodore - 17 wins

A three-way tie for third means our list of 10 is actually 12, but that’s a good thing because it means both the Torana L34 and A9X are included. As will become clear as we go down this list, the modern Commodores had an advantage thanks to the increased number of races in the V8 Supercars era, but the Toranas played such an important part of the story of Holden it’s fitting they make the cut.
