1978 Rothmans 500
Oran Park hosted the second of two 222-lap non championship enduros on June 4, 1978. Lasting well over five hours, this was as grueling an affair for spectators as it was for the 40-car field. And that’s saying something. Cars dropped like flies. For Holden at least, this proved a blessing in disguise ahead of the races that mattered.
