40th Anniversary: 1983 James Hardie 1000
The 1983 James Hardie 1000 was full of the expected highs and lows that come with racing at The Mountain. Peter Brock, Larry Perkins and John Harvey emerged as the champions in their Holden Dealer Team Commodore, but only after taking over car #25 mid-way through the race. The trio finishing one lap ahead of Allan Moffat and Yoshimi Katayama in their Mazda RX-7.
