Rare footage: Mt Druitt circuit

Long before Sydney Motorsport Park, there was Mount Druitt. The track was an old WW2 airfield converted to hold motor racing and, situated a few kilometres further west of Eastern Creek along the Great Western Highway, it really was the Sydney Motorsport Park of the 1950s. This newsreel footage of openwheelers, sports cars and early touring cars gives us a rare glimpse of this famous old motor racing venue - Sydney's premier motor racing circuit for most of the 1950s.
