End of an era

The 2010 Sydney Telstra 500 V8 Supercar street race at Homebush was the end of an era - the swansong for the renowned NRMA Smash Repair Team (SRT).

Tied to that, the 2010 season finale also saw the exit from the sport of a man who has put more cars on the Bathurst 1000 grid than Harry Firth, Fred Gibson, Dick Johnson and Roland Dane combined!

Tony Warrener had “hung up the boots” after a half-century of overseeing the trackside repair of hundreds - if not thousands - of battle-scarred race cars.
