Allan Moffat and his Ford Mustang Trans Am is one of the most iconic combinations in Australian motor racing history. In 2023 the Moffat name will return to a Ford Mustang Trans Am with his son James joining the National Trans Am Series.
James Moffat will switch from the TCR series to Trans Am, taking the wheel of the Garry Rogers Motorsport run Mustang that Nathan Herne has driven to the last two national titles (pictured above). It won’t be Moffat’s Trans Am debut though, with the former Supercars regular making a cameo appearance at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2021.
“I’m excited to be driving in Trans Am, I really enjoyed the race I did in the category at the end of 2021,” Moffat said.
