1974 ATCC: Surfers Paradise - Brock's first crown
The Australian Touring Car Championship headed north for the sixth round of the '74 series, hitting the Surfers Paradise circuit. Peter Brock claimed his first title with a surprising teammate at the Holden Dealer Team.
Peter Brock was on the way to his first ATCC title when the series hit Surfers Paradise.
Brock began the season the Holden Torana GTR XU-1 but switched to the new LH Torana SL/R 5000 at Surfers Paradise.
The two HDT drivers Brock and 'ring-in' Dick Johnson preparing for the start, with Ian Tate looking after Brock and team boss Harry Firth taking care of Johnson (in the older XU-1).
