You are excused if you have never heard of Fred Morgan.

We’ll let you off the hook as Fred was all-but-unknown to even the most diligent of race historians over the last half-century, despite finishing runner-up in the 1963 Armstrong 500.

There’s a very good reason he’s been the event’s invisible man: Fred is erroneously listed in the Bathurst history books as ‘Frank Morgan’. It doesn’t help that he’s invariably listed in other entry lists and results as simply ‘F. Morgan’.
