Walkinshaw Andretti United, the team formerly known as the Holden Racing Team, has officially turned blue. The squad has unveiled its 2023 entries for Chaz Mostert and Nick Percat, a pair of primarily white Ford Mustangs for the new Gen3 regulations.
Once again the team will field different sponsors for its two drivers, with Mostert getting support from Optus and Percat running NTI backing. Both cars will run Mobil 1 signage on the bonnet, a deal that dates back to Peter Brock’s time with the Holden Racing Team in the mid-1990s.
To embrace its new Ford allegiance, the two Mustangs are running thick racing stripes down the centre of the car, a classic look for the pony car.
Mostert is a fan of his new-look ride and is eager to return to a Ford, having begun his main game career with the team currently known as Tickford Racing. He also paid tribute to the WAU crew, which has worked hard since the Adelaide finale to get the new Fords ready for the start of the season.

“It’s amazing to be returning to the blue oval, that first lap will feel like a bit of a homecoming I think, so I’m really looking forward to ramping up to Newcastle,” Mostert said.
“Two things have made this possible though, our amazing team who have worked non-stop lately, right through the ‘off-season’ to make sure we have a car to race, and the support of our partners, who have all been incredible.”
It was a sentiment backed up by Percat, who is looking forward to shaking down the new Mustang tomorrow (Wednesday February 15).
“The team have put in some crazy hours and made a lot of sacrifices to get it to this point, so I can’t thank them enough, we’ve seen Gen3 take shape pretty rapidly at the workshop to be able to get behind the wheel now is exciting,” he said.
